Amanda
Suffering from low back pain, Amanda was getting bored with just doing cardio and was ready to build more muscle, have abs and get stronger. But she didn’t know how to do that safely and efficiently, because the group classes just ain’t cuttin’ it. She was also looking for Vegan meal plans and oh yes, did I have her back! Look at what happened in less than a month of working with a fitness professional.
What were your reservations before you started with me?
Cost, worried about a “mean” trainer, scared of not fitting in at the gym, and a big one: not believing in myself. I didn’t think I was the “type” who could be into fitness or actually make any significant fitness-related accomplishments.
Where were you before you coached with me? What were your struggles?
My weight has yo-yo’d my whole life which always had a huge effect on my self esteem. In my mid-20s I found myself living in an unfamiliar city, stuck in an unfulfilling marriage, and I had gotten to my highest weight ever. I was miserable, I didn’t even know how miserable at the time! Luckily I was able to pull myself out of that and I started losing weight on my own, but it was unfamiliar territory and I hit a brick wall mentally and emotionally. I knew I needed outside help to be able to keep moving forward.
What was the breakthrough you had during our coaching?
SO many things!! Firstly, there are amazingly friendly/loving trainers out there who use POSITIVE reinforcement. Also, learning proper form and how to build muscle, discovering new yummy FILLING meal plans, and most importantly: totally changing my mindset/perspective to help me overcome my mental struggles. Jaclyn taught me to “chase the fear,” so that’s what I’ve been doing – and now I feel like I’ve accomplished SO much more than I ever would’ve even dreamed of. It’s an incredible feeling.
What are the actual specific results that you got so far?
*Before I was bloated and unfit, but now I’m in shape and have actual muscle definition which is SUPER exciting and motivating for me – especially when people comment on it – that’s a first! It’s not just looks though, it’s also my actual physical progress. For example, I’ve started training for a half marathon, which is HUGE!!! I’ve never, ever been a runner and always thought I was terrible at it. Come to find out, I’m actually pretty good! I NEVER would’ve discovered that if I didn’t “chase the fear” and have this newfound drive to take on challenges. It’s incredibly liberating. *Before I was fearful of trying new things, but now I am learning to face my fears head on and use the opportunity to grow physically and mentally. And because of that SO many doors have opened that I wouldn’t have expected in 100 years! It’s an indescribable feeling. *Before I was emotionally stagnant, scared and insecure, but now I’m more confident than ever before. I have healthy boundaries and expectations and I can see the positive impact I have on others around me which is probably more rewarding than anything else.
Who would you recommend this for?
Literally anyone! I can’t imagine someone who couldn’t benefit from it!

I am so so so grateful to have found Jaclyn and to be working with her! I’ve grown so much, inside and out, into a person who I’m truly happy to be! I’m now so grateful to be me and can’t wait to see what my future holds!
